Chief Diversity Officer

(Health Plan)

Join a community-based Healthcare organization as their Chief Diversity Officer to provide strategic direction for the organization’s health equity programs. You will be collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to design and oversee the implementation of programs and initiatives that promote health equity and reduce health disparities. Develops quantifiable metrics that can track and evaluate the results of the targeted interventions designed to eliminate health inequities. Serves as a lead and/or subject matter expert on the Health Equity Committee and in the development of a Health Equity Annual Report. This position works closely with and reports to the Chief Medical Officer.

Position Details

• Both internal & external facing position.
• Hybrid work environment: Remote/Office
• Must be a resident of California.

Position Requirements:

• Education/License and Certifications:
  • Doctorate in Public Health, OR
  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school, completion of an accredited GME residency program, medical license by the state of California and certification of specialty board recognized by AMA or AOA. OR
  • Master’s degree in a clinical discipline with a valid state clinical license.

• At least five years clinical experience in the practice of medicine (if a physician) or clinical leadership in fields related to a managed care setting,
• At least five years clinical experience or practice of medicine (if a physician) with Medi-Cal and/or Medicare populations,
• At least three years of experience developing and/or implementing health care diversity initiatives that address health equity and health disparities,
• Certificated in Health Equity and Diversity, Health Disparities and Health Inequality or other certification that meets California and/or federal requirements or within one year of hire,
• Experience collaborating with diverse groups of stakeholders to blend diverse opinions, to achieve ambitious outcomes, strongly preferred.
• Proven experience designing quality health programs with a strategic vision to provide health equity improvement to our members, strongly preferred.
• Valid California driver’s license, required at hire.
