Cultural & Linguistics Leader (Managed Care)

California

 

Position:

Join a California Healthcare organization looking for a Cultural & Linguistics Leader to oversee managing Cultural and Linguistics programs by identifying opportunities to provide effective, equitable, understandable, and respectful quality care and services to a diverse cultural health beliefs/practice, preferred languages, health literacy, and other communication needs of members and employees. The Cultural & Linguistics leader additionally oversees the development and implementation of consistent business processes in collaboration with other internal departments to fulfill objectives and regulatory requirements. Work is varied and moderately complex and requires a moderate degree of independent judgmentThis position works closely with and reports to the Chief Compliance Officer.

 

 

Position Type/Expected schedule/Staff:

  • Hybrid work environment: Remote/office
  • Monday-Friday work schedule
  • Direct Reports: 2 internal linguistic specialists
  • Oversight of outside Interpreters: 8+

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in linguistics, public health, health science or equivalent director work experience, required
  • Master’s degree in nursing in linguistics, public health, health science,
  • CHLA Interpreter Competency Assessment or CCHI and ATA Certification, preferred.
  • Valid California driver license and reliable transportation required
  • 2-3+ years of recent experience working in cultural & linguistics program development and implementation, required
  • 2+ years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Recent experience working in managed care, strongly preferred.
  • Experience with health education programs in conjunction with Medi-Cal and/or Medicare programs, strongly preferred
  • Bilingual – Spanish, Chinese or other languages, required.
