Director of Behavioral Health Services 

(Managed Care Organization) 

West Coast 

Join a California Healthcare organization looking for a Director of Behavioral Health Services to oversee the strategic direction of the Behavioral Health and Social Work function, providing program development and leadership that lead to the integration of physical/behavioral health services. Provides organizational strategies and objectives to meet regulatory requirements. Prepares for and participates in regulatory audits and external review activities; gathers information, maintains required reports. Develops and manages department budgets and spending. Designs the development, implementation, and maintenance of appropriate and required documents, policies, and procedures. This position reports to the Executive Director of Clinic Operations. 

Type of Work: Full time, Hybrid (remote/onsite – monthly onsite meeting requirements) – must live in service area. 

Oversees:  Patient Health Navigators, RNs, and Social Workers 

The Ideal candidate will be:  

• Master’s degree in behavioral health, preferred.  
• Unrestricted California license for a Clinical Psychologist, Registered Nurse, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, required. 
• 7+ years of Clinical Operations Behavioral health experience in all levels of care, required. 
• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare setting required.  
• Experience working with Medi-Cal and/or Medicare with Behavioral Health Services required.  
• Experience in implementing Medicaid and Medicare program requirements for Behavioral Health.  
• Successful experience implementation of a Behavioral Health program strongly preferred.  
• Recent experience working at a managed Behavioral Health Organization (MBHO), strongly preferred.
