Laboratory Department Manager

Join an ever-evolving community hospital and take the helm as the Laboratory Manager, where you will lead a close-knit team. As the Laboratory Department Manager, you will wield the power to oversee lab operations, craft procedures to guarantee safety, security, and precise results, and even have a hand in budget management and future planning. Your role extends beyond the lab as you collaborate with physicians and staff to enhance patient care. You will be the guardian of regulatory and accreditation compliance for the laboratory department and meeting the standards of the organization. Reporting directly to the VP of Ancillary Services, this is a pivotal role you will not want to miss.
Laboratory Department Stats:
- 23-28 FTE’s
- 18k-20k lab tests monthly
- 5 CLIA licenses for Main Lab, Frozen Section Licenses, twelve outpatient/primary.
- Recently passed COLA Certification.
- Equipment: C Cerner LIS (Community Works), Ortho VITROS 7600, Sysmex XN-1000, Siemens CS 2500, Siemens Rapid Point, Alcor Sed Rate, MedTox drugs of abuse panel, Cepheid, BioFire, BacT/Alert and Tube Method for Blood Bank
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field,
- Medical Laboratory Scientist ASCP Certified, required.
- 5 years of working experience in a clinic laboratory setting,
- 2+years of progressive leadership experience at an acute care facility
- Current knowledge of clinical Lab procedures, practices, safety, and regulatory standards required.
- Able to work the bench, as needed.
