Senior Director: Health Equity and Quality Initiatives

The Senior Director of Health Equity and Quality Initiatives provides strategic leadership to ensure our quality functions align with contractual and regulatory standards, as well as our organization’s health strategies and objectives. This role also guides the development of health equity programs, working with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement initiatives that promote health equity and reduce health disparities. This position requires handling varied and complex tasks with a significant level of discretion and independent judgment. 

Position Details

• Oversees: Health Equity, Cultural Linguistics, Accreditation, Quality Improvement, credentialing, grievances and appeals staff.
• Reports to: Chief Medical Officer
• Both internal & external facing position.
• Must be a resident of California,

Position Requirements:

• Education/License and Certifications:
  • Doctorate in Public Health, OR
  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school, completion of an accredited GME residency program, medical license by the state of California and certification of specialty board recognized by AMA or AOA. OR
  • Master’s degree in a clinical discipline with a valid state clinical license.

• 5+ years clinical experience in the practice of medicine (if a physician) or clinical leadership in fields related to a managed care setting,
• 5+ years clinical experience or practice of medicine (if a physician) with Medi-Cal and/or Medicare populations,
• 5+ clinical experience of designing, leading and implementing Quality or population health programs,
• 3+ years of experience developing and/or implementing health care diversity initiatives that address health equity and health disparities,
• Certificated in Health Equity and Diversity, Health Disparities and Health Inequality or other certification that meets California and/or federal requirements or within one year of hire,
• Experience collaborating with diverse groups of stakeholders to blend diverse opinions, to achieve ambitious outcomes, strongly preferred.
• Proven experience designing quality health programs with a strategic vision to provide health equity improvement to our members, strongly preferred.
• Valid California driver’s license, required at hire.
• Proven experience communicating with all groups of people internally and externally effectively. required.

Salary:  $225,000-325,000
